3 Powerful Motivational Strategies

How to motivate yourself is an important question, but a more grounding question is… how important motivation really is?

You find something that you think is worth investing your time on, the reward for its accomplishment is great and you feel excited to work on it. You did work on it for awhile. Perhaps, a week or a month. And then, you stopped. You no longer feel as motivated as you did when first started.

That is a common problem that people face. It’s not that you are lazy or don’t want to do anything about your life. Sometimes its the lack of inner power to continue.

That is why knowing and also being able to motivated yourself are very important. Why? Because your success depends on it. Without your patients, continues action or effort towards the accomplishment of your goal, success will sit afar from you.

But don’t fret. Today I’m going to share with you 3 powerful motivational strategies that I find very effective in motivating myself. And I hope you implement and benefit from it as well.

So here are the 3 Powerful Motivational Strategies.

Read Targeted Books

I know that not everyone likes to read… And I don’t want to encourage you to do something unless I’m 100% positive that It will make positive difference in your life. This is the reason why I’m talking to you about it now. Because motivational strategy works!

But why doesn’t it seem to work for some people? Here are some of the reasons why…

A) Because they have not develop the habit of reading. Reading is a skill that can be acquired. Of coarse, not everyone enjoys reading. I didn’t enjoy it too. But I had to build this habit and install it into my subconscious mind. And then I started to like it.

Books of different topics became more interesting, useful and meaningful.

The more you read, the easier and more likable this practice will be. The reason why some people don’t like to read is because they have negative notion about it. That it’s hard and boring. You change that notion by training your mind and then lo and behold… after awhile you’ll feel good about it that you will start collecting books.

B) Because they don’t read the right books, the right articles. What you read matters  just as much as where you get the information from. You don’t want to spend time reading books that are irrelevant to what you’re trying to accomplish. That’s wasting valuable time.

So if you’re trying to lose weight, what you need to do is to read positive contents about losing weight. Contents that changes your outlook from feeling bored to feeling positive and excited and its got to be related. Read books about people who did it and empower you to do it as well.

Don’t read newspapers that will pour negative images in your mind. Again, read positive and empowering contents.

Listen to Targeted Audio Books and Podcasts

So we talked about reading and reading the right contents, now were going to talk about listening. And with that I recommend that you listen to audiobooks and podcasts.

What are audiobooks and podcast and where can you get them even for free?

Podcast are like radio shows aired online. So long as you have internet access and a smartphone that can download podcasts apps, you can have access to vast amount of podcast shows that will move and motivate you to become more successful.

Simply go on google app store or Google Play or iTunes and search for podcast.

Audiobooks are also powerful and a great answer to how to motivate yourself. If you live in the U.S. I can show you how to borrow high quality audiobooks for free. You do that by going to app store and searching for an app called Hoopla.

Hoopla allows you to access popular audiobooks that are available on Amazon, local libraries and book store.

What is Hoopla? It is an online library.

To access it you’re going to need your local library card number. Just enter your info and after that you can choose books that are relevant to what you are trying to accomplish. If you need motivation about working out then find audiobooks about working out and I recommend you do the same for the podcast.

Watch Targeted Videos and Movies

Watching movies and videos are also great ways to become motivated. Today you can simply go online and watch YouTube or movies that are inspiring for moving forward.

But what kind of videos you should watch and what are the videos you should avoid watching?

When you go to watch videos online its easy to get lost and waste lots of time on irrelevant videos. I know because I succumbed into watching videos about aliens, super powers, sports, entertainment, how to’s and so on.

There’s a lot of interesting stories out there that will keep you off track. But that’s not our goal here. Our goal is to motivate ourselves.

So what you need to do is to search for motivating videos, motivating stories and motivating Ted talks.

For many people who have access to these free materials, we should consider ourselves fortunate. Our failure to find these free valuable tools for success is not because they don’t exist, but because we either don’t know they exist or don’t look for them or both.
