“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.”

~Winston Churchill

One of the ways we can minimize making mistakes is to anticipate  and prepare for it. Today, this is what we are going to do. You will learn and identify 3 mistakes we commonly make when striving to achieve personal success. This should give you the insight and the right frame of mind, which will enable you to continue or restore your ideal success.

Sometimes we just judge ourselves and the situations too quickly, because in this life we can’t seem to avoid to fail. And when we do, we then give our own conclusion that maybe… we really are not meant for success. But is that really what the real reason why we fail? I don’t think so. I believe that your chance of success is as good as mine and the many others who’s already breathing success.

Taking Counsel of Our Fears

“Never take counsel of fear”

~Stonewall Jackson

Here is one of the common mistakes… In each endeavor in our journey to success, we can’t help but encounter difficulties and challenges. Here’s the dark part about this… as we experience failure and disappointments, fear can seep in as well. They can easily take away our courage and hope for success. Luckily, there are still chance for us to have a happy ending.

We often lose courage and hope when we take counsel of our fears. When a failing situation comes up, voices of disempowerment are also with them. This is what make things even more challenging. But the real problem is really not because we experience emotions of fear. The problem is how we respond to them. The mistake occurs when we start to listen and believe their advice.

Voices that spring out of fear sounds like this, “This is impossible, I knew I couldn’t make it. There is no way I can do this, I’m such a failure.” and so on. If you listen and believe in what these voices are telling you, then, you are taking counsel of your fear and it will not end well for you.

Not Striving for Clarity(Lack of Aiming Skill)

“You can’t hit a target if you don’t know what it is.”

~Tony Robbins

It’s amazing how our mind actually work. It’s mysterious, yet very powerful. And of course, not everyone can see that. One mistake people commonly make in striving for success is not striving for clarity, one of the reason why we can’t see through the sea of confusion. What do I mean by that? I simply mean, clarity is very important when it comes to recognizing success factors.

What else is another reason why clarity is very important? What vital role does it play in the achievement of success or in success factor? You see, our mind can be likened to an advance navigation system. I’m pretty sure you’re familiar with an app called Google Maps.

This app is amazing and extremely helpful, especially when you find yourself often getting lost. Now, it doesn’t matter how powerful and amazing it is when you don’t set a clear destination. If you don’t have a point of direction, then there is no way you will get there

This is also what’s happening in our mind. If you don’t have any clear sense of direction of where you want to go, It also makes it virtually impossible to get there, because there is no there. This is like shooting darts on target with your eyes blind-folded.

Insufficient Success Factor Strategy

Strategy is style of thinking, a conscious and deliberate process, an intensive implementation system, the science of insuring future success.”

~Pete Johnson

And lastly, another insufficiency in success factor and this one is about success strategy. Success strategy is about what to do and how to do things that will drive you to your success. Even if you have marked your target or have set your goal clearly, without a sufficient strategy it’s going to be extremely difficult to get there, that’s if you get there at all. To acquire or come up with the ideal strategy you need some experience and solid knowledge on how things work.

This means you’re going to need ideas on what to do and how to do them. Lack of strategy can leave you wondering for days what’s not missing. If you are a striving entrepreneur, what you want is to be productive. And productivity is in existence when you know and can apply strategy.
